What is this thing, exactly?RecipeFixe is a simple browser extension that makes using online recipes quick and easy. When the extension detects recipe data on a page, it adds the ability to press a button and quickly view the recipe rather than having to scan through pages of content and images to find it.
Why does RecipeFixe need access to all sites? In order to detect whether a recipe is on the page, RecipeFixe needs to inspect the content of the page itself. If a recipe does exist RecipeFixe parses that data out and makes it readily available for you. If no recipe is detected, the extension does nothing.
Does RecipeFixe work on every site with a recipe on it?RecipeFixe should work on almost any recipe site that is large and popular. However, there will be some sites that include recipes where RecipeFixe does not work. For more details on why this is the case, see the FAQ below labeled “How does this work?”
How does this work?Under-the-hood, RecipeFixe is looking for special type of data that sites can opt to embed within the content of the page. Not every site makes use of this data, though. So RecipeFixe first looks at the page content to determine whether that data is available and, if it is, the extension adds functionality to show the recipe.
